At DuraMag, we’re proud to be a part of the Association for the Work Truck Industry (NTEA), as well as the Green Truck Association (an NTEA affiliate division). We understand the importance of sustainability and the need to “go green” in the work truck industry. We’re proud to be a leader in the aluminum truck bodies and accessories market. Moving away from the use of outdated, heavy, steel truck bodies means better gas mileage and less greenhouse gases. We’ve compiled some of the ‘need to know’ resources for sustainability in the work truck industry, below.

Organizations to Know

Via the Green Truck Association (GTA), the mission of GTA is to improve the efficiency and productivity of work trucks through the development and deployment of strategies to reduce diesel and gasoline consumption and the associated environmental impacts.

National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) — The NAFTC is a national leader in promoting programs and activities leading to energy independence and greater use of cleaner transportation. The NAFTC is the only nationwide alternative fuel vehicle and advanced technology vehicle training organization in the U.S.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) — The NREL is the only federal laboratory dedicated to the research, development, commercialization and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Backed by 32 years of achievement, this Department of Energy facility leads the way in helping meet the growing demand for clean energy.

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) — A governmental department charged with advancing the national, economic and energy security of the U.S.; promoting scientific and technological innovation; and ensuring the environmental cleanup of the national nuclear weapons complex.
